During our walk around Guangzhou, yesterday, we stopped briefly by an excavation where the city walls were exposed, dating back to the Ming dynasty. This was on our way to take care of some business for Vicky and after that was all completed, we stopped by the Guangdong Folk Arts Museum.
Built in 1888, it was the area's Ancestral Hall and was used at times as an official area for imperial examination or litigation.
It was a beautiful place with tons of China (the pottery, not the country) figures adorning the roof and intricate carvings all over the place. One room was dedicated to intrcate bone carvings (didn't come out on the photos) and another was dedicated to incredible silk embroidery. The flower photo below is a close up area that's maybe 6 inches square.
